DECOR TIPS!

Introduction
Hey everyone! I recently went through a really weird phase of struggling quite with getting a cute and comfortable bedding set up. I realized that during all of college my parents would always help me move in and I never had to do it on my own. When I decided to move back to Denver (where I graduated from), it was all on me to figure out what I liked. Take it from me who got a whole bed and then returned it for a simple bed frame on amazon, sometimes less is more. This post will share what I found and things I decorated my room with!
Step 1: Get a Good Base
When I was moving into my apartment, the first things that I did was go to Ikea and buy a full bed frame and mattress with a headboard and everything. However, I did not realize how small a full would look in my new room. I chose a full because I was used to it from my small college room. I ended up returning it and ordered a simple Metal Bed Frame from Amazon. What I love about this is that you can dress it up with a Bed Skirt and attach a headboard to it. I decided to not get a headboard because I have huge throw pillows that act as that. For a mattress I love a simple Pocket Spring Mattress such as the one below. I added a Mattress Cover to make it extra comfortable. After careful selection, I got Bamboo Sheets and I love them! I had returned other ones that were just not the right material and then someone recommended these exact ones and I swear they get softer after every wash!
Step 2: Pick Your Style and Color Scheme
I won't lie, bedding one was one the hardest parts for me because I wanted something cute and fun but still sophisticated. For my college room, I put whatever up on the walls, I decorated with my favorite colors of purpose and green, and very much went for the vintage frame vibe. When I put this decor up in my new, remodeled apartment, it just didn't look right. It reminded me of the old and I realized my style completely changed. It was hard to grow up when I had the same purple duvet cover that just reminded me of the old. I recommend doing a full reset in style and color scheme. Go on Pinterest and just start pinning things that you like. Your evolved, your in a different phase of life and chances are that your style has also changed and that's okay. I get oldy sentimental about styles that I used to like and pictures that are important to me. Remember that you are still you even if your taste has simple changed. Evolving is a beautiful thing, embrace the new!
Step 3: Pick Your Bedding!
Bedding is a tricky one because it makes or breaks the entire style and color of the room. In my old room, the walls were super bright, so I wanted darker bedding that would create a nice contrast. In my new room, my main goal was to match the frame, but I also wanted to brighten up due to the more tan walls. I ended up going with white bedding with small yellow and blue flowers, which tied in the frame perfectly while still brightening the room. It came with the cutest pillows as well with little bows on the side. I am so happy with it and it feels super cute and dainty.
However, I will show some others that I was looking at that didn't match with my room. It all depends on how you want to decorate and what your personal style is. Stripes are super in right now and are just always a cool addition. I always love a pop of color, or a simple white and accessorizing with pillows. Here are some of my favorites:
Step 4: Accessorize with Pillows
Last but not least is pillows! The girls know how much we love to put a million pillows on our bed just because it looks pretty- and you know what I love it. I was confused for a second on the perfect way to lay pillows out in terms of throw pillows, comfy sleeping pillows, and decorative ones for in front. I guess it depends on what you want to do. I've seem some people go more simple and that looks great and then there's people like me who love big ruffly pillows and adding a ton to the point of it being incredibly unnecessary in the best way. I ended up having two big throw pillows in back because I do not have a head board (26 by 26), the middle pillows are the ones I sleep in, and then I have two decorated ones in front that came with my duvet set. Overall, have fun with it and play with patterns and textures. Pillows are your chance to tie in all your colors!
